All About Pantone’s 2023 Color of the Year: Viva Magenta

April 13, 2023 by Carol S Leave a Comment

Pantone’s Color of the Year: Viva Magenta!

Pantone announced their 2023 Color of the Year: Viva Magenta. Many companies use the color magenta in their branding. For example, T-Mobile uses magenta for its logo and branding. Fiverr uses magenta in its branding to represent creativity and innovation. Cosmopolitan, the iconic women’s magazine, uses magenta. Pinkberry, the frozen yogurt chain, uses a light version of magenta in its branding and store design. By the way, we’ve written about the Ten Best Colors of the Year 2023 before. Take a look!

Who or what is Pantone?

Pantone’s Color of the Year is a color trend prediction selected by Pantone, a company that specializes in color systems and technology. Read about Pantone’s Magentaverse in their excellent article, above. The color chosen as the Color of the Year is meant to reflect current cultural and design trends. Now that the year is about one-third over (can you believe it?), what do you think about magenta? Is it still on track to stay popular in 2023?

In garden design, adding a few spots of magenta flowers or plants can add some fun to your yard

Playful magenta

The Pantone Color of the Year for 2023 is Magenta, a vibrant and lively shade of pink. This color is said to reflect a sense of playfulness and optimism, as well as a desire for individuality and self-expression. Magenta is also associated with creativity, energy, and confidence. Personally, whenever I see magenta, I think of big, splashy flowers sorta like the wallpaper my bestie had when I was a kid.

For bold design, go with magenta

The color can be used to create bold and striking designs in fashion, home decor, and graphic design. Magenta is also a popular color in branding and advertising, as it helps to draw attention and make a statement. It’s uplifting and fun, too.

Magenta sparks creativity

Sometimes the color you choose can make all the difference. Magenta is a great color choice for those who want to express their individuality and creativity. It’s a color that can be used to create designs that are both fun and playful, as well as bold and expressive.

Pantone’s color of the year is not just for fashion, graphic design, or interiors but also for industries like automotive, consumer electronics, home appliances, and home furnishings. The color can be used in products, packaging and marketing materials to reflect current cultural and design trends.

Don’t be afraid to use magenta

If you want to get started, you could use small spots or dots of magenta in your design. For example, maybe outline a word or two with magenta. Or use it to dot your i’s! Because it does scream loudly if you use too much of it.

Adding cushions to a couch is a good way to start using the vibrant Magenta

Play with your colors and your branding

Overall, Magenta is a color that symbolizes a sense of optimism, playfulness, and creativity, and it is expected to be a popular color choice in various design fields in 2023. Tell us the ways you might use Magenta! Would you add a cushion to a couch, use a dollop in a printed design, or get all splashy with it? Let us know!

This Is What Happens During a Visit to NeoCon 2019

September 19, 2019 by Carol S Leave a Comment

Recently our fearless leader attended NeoCon 2019. Neocon is a leading gathering place for innovations among the commercial design world’s manufacturers dealers, architects, and designers. Located at The Mart in Chicago, NeoCon has been making news in the design world since 1969. Here are a few images from that recent trip.

Designtex, a distributor of Interior Design Materials, themed their entire exhibit honoring Women Weavers in time with the celebration of Women in Construction everywhere! As you might know, Window Works is super-excited about Women in Construction, as evidenced by our Women in Construction event earlier this year.

Floors, Wall, Ceilings, Windows; there are no surfaces that aren’t being beautified!  Now we can have carpet that appears ethereal in design!  20 years ago, this was simply impossible! We suspect that the man with the cast on his leg, above, may have slipped on that seemingly wet surface!
